Lynn PR releases The BS Monitor

The first-ever dedicated pulse check of literacy and adoption of behavioural science (B-Sci) in the PR and communications industry has arrived.

What is it?

This inaugural annual capability research report will help establish awareness and education of B-Sci methodologies within PR and communications, including setting baselines for current usage of B-Sci in communications practice today.

What did we do?

We ran a digital survey to establish a baseline for literacy and adoption of B-Sci within the industry, and will now track improvements each year.

Why did we do it?
We hope this will help PR and communications practitioners understand the state of the nation in regards to B-Sci usage to inform their own programmes, so they can unlock the power of B-Sci and apply it across campaigns and communications and engage with their audiences in new, innovative ways.

CEO of Lynn PR, Shayoni Lynn, said: “Organisations across the world are starting to see the impact that behaviourally-informed communications can have in helping them achieve their goals.

“COVID-19 has definitely played a big part in accelerating the understanding and adoption of behavioural science in communications, especially to help people adopt new behaviours at pace. The landscape in practice is changing fast and PR and communications practitioners can significantly enhance their programmes by using behavioural science methodologies. We’re excited to help tell the story and track the understanding and usage in our industry now and into the future with The BS Monitor, along with laying the groundwork for individuals to learn how to put B-Sci into practice.”

The BS Monitor includes a full breakdown of the (startling!) results from the survey of 78 professionals spanning our industry. It also includes ‘Your Behavioural Science Toolkit’ – a handy toolkit of nine key behavioural science principles, and how they can help you to reach your marketing and communications goals with fully mapped out examples.
